Incoloy 800H pipe (UNS N08810, Werkstoff 1.4876) covers both the seamless route to ASTM B407 / ASME SB-407 and the welded route to ASTM B514 / ASME SB-514, with TorqBolt supplying both forms in NPS 1/2 in to 12 in, Schedule 10S through Schedule 160 (XXS on request), in random lengths of 4 to 7 m. Each section is solution annealed at 2050 deg F (1121 deg C) and quench-cooled to lock in ASTM grain size 5 or coarser, then hydrotested per the parent specification and supplied with an EN 10204 type 3.1 mill certificate by default; type 3.2 third-party witness from Lloyds Register, DNV, BV, SGS or TUV is supplied on call-out. This page is the hub for the two pipe routes - see the seamless pipe page for the cold-drawn / pilger-mill route to B407 and the welded pipe page for the longitudinally-welded route to B514. For outside diameter below 2 in see the tubing hub instead.

ASTM B407 / ASME SB-407 covers seamless Ni-Fe-Cr 800H pipe produced by extrusion, pilger rolling or cold draw with intermediate process-anneal. Seamless is the default for high-pressure refinery, ethylene cracker and fired-heater service. Solution anneal at 2050 deg F per B407 paragraph 7 with accelerated air cool. Wall thickness from Sch 10S through Sch 160 stocked; XXS on indent. Each pipe goes through hydrostatic test per B407 paragraph 14, ultrasonic per ASTM E213 and eddy-current per ASTM E309 (small OD only). Grain size verification per ASTM E112. Heat-number marking with paint colour band per PFI ES-22 on each pipe end.
ASTM B514 / ASME SB-514 covers longitudinally-welded Ni-Fe-Cr 800H pipe formed from plate and seam-welded by GTAW or plasma-arc, with the weld solution-annealed alongside the parent metal. B514 is the cost-effective option for larger NPS (above 6 in) where seamless is mill-order. Radiographic examination per ASTM E94 at 100 percent of the weld length; bend test per ASTM E190 on coupon per heat. Hydrotest per B514 paragraph 14. Mechanical testing on coupons that include the longitudinal weld - tensile, transverse and longitudinal Charpy at room temperature.

For pipe under 2 in OD specify tubing instead. For very high temperature (above 982 deg C) see centrifugally cast tubes in HK-40 / HP-40 modified alloys.
EN 10204 type 3.1 mill certificate supplied by default, with heat-number chemistry traceability, solution-anneal cycle record, mechanical test results at room temperature, hardness, grain-size verification, hydrotest pressure and dimensional check on each pipe lot. EN 10204 type 3.2 third-party witness from Lloyds Register, DNV, Bureau Veritas, SGS or TUV supplied on call-out. NACE MR0103 compliance statement is included on the certificate where the project specification requires it - 800H in the solution-annealed condition meets NACE MR0103 hardness limit (22 HRC max for Ni-Fe-Cr alloys, 237 HV equivalent). Marking per ASTM B407 / B514 paragraph 12 - grade, NPS, schedule, heat number, mill mark and paint colour band per PFI ES-22.
Parent metal chemistry per UNS N08810 and chemical composition page. Seamless route per ASTM B407. Welded route per ASTM B514. For mechanical design data see mechanical properties and ASME design stress tables. Companion forms: tubing (OD below 2 in), seamless tube, welded pipe, seamless pipe, fittings and flanges.
Q. When do I specify B407 seamless vs B514 welded?
Seamless is the default for high-pressure service above 600 psig at design temperature, for sour-service piping under NACE MR0103, and for NPS 1/2 in to 4 in where seamless is stocked. Welded B514 is cost-effective for NPS 6 in and above, for non-pressure ducting and for headers where the longitudinal weld is fully radiographed. Both are solution-annealed and both carry the same chemistry and grain-size acceptance.
Q. What is the design temperature limit for Incoloy 800H pipe?
ASME Section VIII Div 1 publishes allowable stress for 800H pipe to 815 deg C (1500 deg F). 800HT (UNS N08811, higher-carbon variant) extends the envelope to 982 deg C (1800 deg F). Above 982 deg C the centrifugally cast HK-40 or HP-40 alloys take over.
Q. Do you supply Incoloy 800H pipe in compliance with NACE MR0103?
Yes. 800H pipe in the solution-annealed condition meets NACE MR0103 / ISO 17945 hardness limits for refinery sour service - 22 HRC max for Ni-Fe-Cr alloys, equivalent to 237 HV. The compliance statement is added to the EN 10204 type 3.1 / 3.2 certificate.
Q. What is the standard length and is cut-to-length supplied?
Standard mill lengths are 4 to 7 m random. Cut-to-length per PO is supplied with +/- 3 mm tolerance on cold-saw and +/- 6 mm on band-saw cut. Both-end bevel preparation per ASME B16.25 angle 37.5 deg is supplied on call-out for site welding.
